Here's hoping

Maybe, just maybe, Matilda and I will be quilting together soon. She and I had a good long chat today and she told me I'd better check the needle shaft height. She thought I'd either adjusted it too low or else didn't tighten the screw enough to hold it in place. Sure enough when I looked, the needle was riding too low and was hitting the rotary hook on the way down. Got that fixed and made sure the needle shaft screw and the bobbin basket screws were tightened thoroughly. There wasn't time to call the factory to check to see if it makes a difference where the thread guide and the screw holding the needle are located. I'll have to wait til Monday to check on that. Looks like the shaft is turned but the needle is straight. Don't want that be out of place if it matters.

This is the only appliqued quilt I've done so far. Sun was hitting the upper left corner and I didn't realize it when this picture was taken. It really isn't faded like that. The binding was pieced from left over fabric.

The back was made from a brushed flannel that feels like a brushed corduroy. D told his mom when he received it that it was a multi seasonal quilt. He could use it with the trucks showing in the summer and then turn it over and use the flannel up in the winter. I love that kid! Sunlight made funny spots on the back too.

  1. I love this quilt. Hope that machine of yours gets back in business soon. I can't imagine your frustration. I get frustrated when I (just) can't find my scissors!
