Another Finish

Happy to have another quilt finished and gifted. The latest little munchkin arrived yesterday, all 10# 6oz. of her. She's a good combination of her siblings ~ we think she's a keeper!

and here is her quilt:

I finished this quilt more than one year ago except for the binding. It was intended for this little munchkins little bigger sibling. He surprised us all. This was not quite what I thought might be appropriate for a boy, so it went into a holding pattern while I finished another one. A little birdie told me this one might be a girl so the binding was finished last week. It was quilted with simple straight line quilting and backed with an organic cotton flannel which is squishy soft. Bound it with scraps left from the top. I love this quilt!

Another gift made:

These patterns were both found on Ravelry and made with Drops Merino Extra Fine Superwash Wool. Wrapped in fabric and tied with a 3.5" wide strip of fabric, I've found a great use for fabrics that don't have any intended purpose at the moment. Good thing her mom is a quilter! (and mom, if you read this ~ I'm thinking Fancy Nancy all the way =). If you haven't been introduced to Fancy Nancy, look her up in the children's section at the library.

Working on a few other knit projects ~ hoping to finish a couple pairs of socks that were started quite awhile ago, too. Got another round sewn onto one of this year's grad quilts and really need to get serious about finishing those two tops and completing the quilts. Graduation will be here way too soon for this gramm but can't come soon enough for the graduates.

'Nuf for now...til next time, I'm still wrapped up

  2. I love this quilt...and of course love that baby too. So much fun to bring a new one home to a houseful of excited kids. Looks like you are also enjoying the knitting. Beautiful set. I tried this comment before & it wouldn't go through. We'll see this time.
